A.B Stage School is a dance and performing arts school situated in Heathfield high street.
Offering classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Street, Aerial arts, Pole, Acrobatics, DanceFit, Performing arts, Singing, Strength and Flex and more.
Our professional studio is fully equppied with barres, mirrors, a sprung floor, changing rooms and lots of specialised equipment.
The dancewear shop also offers a wide range of dance and fitness attire and accessories for chidren and adults.
With such a wide range of costumes from all our performances, we also offer a costume and uniform hire service. From characters and themes to pretty dresses for fancy dress, shows, photoshoots and any other occasion.
We hold regular workshops for all ages including arts and crafts, musical theatre and more throughout the year. You do not need to be a member of our school to attend.
Abigail Brockhurst- school Principle
Abi started dancing when she was 3 years old. It was then that her passion grew with the fantastic training from Sandra Owen. She participated in various performances and professional events from a young age. After developing a strong passion for teaching, she gained her ISTD, DDI and DDE Qualifications in Imperial Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre. Abi also holds qualifications with the International dance teachers association and the Royal Academy of Dance where she regularly attends courses. She has years of teaching experience and really enjoys passing on her knowledge and passion to inspire her students.
Louisa Pamplin- Dance teacher and Acrobatics coach
Louisa started going to gymnastics at the age of 3, her mum was one of the coaches. She worked her way up to the top squad team training in the Beam, Bar's, Floor and Vault. It was a few years down the line when she was introduced to sports acrobatics. Louisa and her partner worked their way up to national level. They competed in many competitions and became Sussex champions and held the title for 5 years running. Louisa always held a passion for acrobatic dance so loved to choreograph routines. Following her love of dance she also studied performing arts for 3 years at Eastbourne College of Arts and Technology. Louisa has been a great part of our team and we love watching her pass on her passion to our students.
Renato Pires- Aerial silks and Hoop Teacher
Renato is a circus performance artist. Since studying for his degree in Circus, Performing Arts and Drama at the Chapito Circus School in Lisbon, Portugal, Renato has appeared in or directed several theatre, circus and television productions around the world- most notably with Cirque Du Soleil. He now lives in eastbourne where he started his own company, Acting Moon Events. Renato teaches both our junior and our adult classes and we are very pleased that he is part of our team.
Kyle Brown- Singing Teacher
Kyle started his acting career at the age of 15 after being scouted by an agent during a drama workshop. Since then he’s appeared in a range of productions both on stage and screen.
Stage credits include Carmen, Evita, The Wiz, Original musical ‘Secrets’ at the Leicester Square Theatre- London, Josh in The swallowing dark response evening at Theatre 503 and most recently a UK tour of Christmas Spectacular.
Over the last few years Kyle has turned his focus on song writing. He has now been featured of BBC introducing twice and has recently been asked by upcoming artist Aleem (who supported fifth harmony on their stadium tour) to open for him at his UK date in London. Kyle has performed at various festivals and was even asked to perform at the prestigious Oxford University’s graduation ball.
Kyle has also appeared as a presenter for Pearson educational amongst a range of other television productions and commercials including Newsround (BBC) Disney XD, Virgin Airlines, Jetix and Morrisons. We are very pleased to have Kyle as part of our teaching team as he has such a professional and friendly approach to teaching.
Connie Farnes- Dance teacher
Connie has been dancing since she was 3 years old. After studying A level Dance, Drama and Performing arts at college, she went on to study her BA Hons Dance Diploma at Chichester University. Connie has developed a passion for teaching and enjoys passing on her love for dance to inspire our students. She has recently studied the Progressing ballet Technique Programme to deepen her knowledge and gain ideas on how she can help our students further. Connie specialises in Classical Ballet and Tap, and also teaches other genres too.
